Grant Application for Animal Welfare Organizations
Resale to the Rescue is excited to be able to further our mission by awarding grants to animal welfare organizations in our community. Our mission is to reduce the number of animals euthanized in local shelters, and we are eager to have your organization as a partner in this mission.
If you or your organization is involved in animal welfare in the Michiana area, you may apply to receive a grant from Resale to the Rescue. Our grant criteria is as follows:
You/your organization must be registered as a 501c3 organization with the federal government.
If you/your organization are an animal rescue involved in adopting animals, you MUST spay/neuter all animals before they are adopted, as well as update vaccines.
You must submit the completed grant application, your 501c3 letter from the IRS, and your two most current IRS 990 forms (NOT 990-N)) or complete documentation of all monies received and spent for the past TWO YEARS. (i.e. bank statements for prior two years). NOTE: If your organization has been a 501(c)3 for less than two years, please note that on your application and include all financial data that is available.
We are currently giving priority to programs that promote spay/neuter, microchipping, and medical care of owned, adoptable, and/or “community” animals, as well as humane education.
You may complete the application online. No handwritten applications will be accepted. The application must be fully completed. If there are sections that do not apply to your organization, explain why they do not. Once completed, print out the application, attach a copy of the 501c3 designation letter, and copies of your two most recent 990 or 990 EZ forms/financial documentation (not 990-N) OR complete documentation of monies received and expenses for the past two years (i.e. bank statements from past two years). Mail or hand deliver to Resale to the Rescue, 905 W. McKinley, Mishawaka, IN 46545 BEFORE the end of the quarter. (Applications received after the dates noted below, will be considered for the next quarter.)
(FYI: 1st quarter ends March 31, 2nd quarter ends June 30, 3rd quarter ends September 30, 4th quarter ends December 31.
Please do not contact us regarding your submitted application. We review grant applications on a quarterly basis, so it may take up to three months to review your applications. We will contact you via email if you are awarded, or are denied, a grant. Grant applications will not be retained by Resale to the Rescue. A new application and current financial information, will be required for each quarterly grant request that you wish to make. Applications submitted without the required financial information will not be considered. Thank you.
